About The Royal British Legion
Careers in People and Legal
Across the country, in every city and on every street, the Legion is there to support our Armed Forces community. As the largest charity of our kind, we have 235,000 members supported by our Membership team, 60,000 volunteers supported by our Volunteering team, and a network of partners all helping us give support wherever and whenever it's needed.
At its heart, the Legion is a people organisation. People who want to do the very best for others, while at the same time making the most of the opportunities and experiences, we offer them.
It's this mission, this scale, this opportunity and the values we all live by, that makes the Legion such a fulfilling place to thrive.
Within our People and Legal directorates, you’ll find teams such as Human Resources, Learning and Organisational Development, Legal, Governance, Public Affairs and Public Policy, and Health and Safety. If you were to join any of them, you’d be central to ensuring this vision comes to life, and that our people operations run efficiently both internally and externally.
So, if you want to give your days meaning. To put your passion into a role with real impact. To support people and be supported yourself. In a team that faces every challenge together. Whatever your interests and ambitions, we think you’ll find a role here that works for you, with career opportunities right across the UK.
As an inclusive employer, we welcome conversations on flexible working and any reasonable adjustments that may be required.
The Role
We have an opportunity for an experienced and creative Resourcing expert to head up our established resourcing team. We have embarked upon an ambitious change programme across RBL which looks to develop our culture, customer focus and service delivery to our beneficiaries. This role, and the team it manages, is critical to the success of our ability to attract strong talent to deliver this programme of change. It’s a great opportunity to take the lead and help shape how we develop our brand and candidate experience and support the many and varied teams and functions RBL is proud to have.
In this role you will be leading on the development of and planning of our resourcing strategy which attracts diverse talent into RBL. We aim to develop a workforce planning structure and process and you would help to create and lead this. And this needs to be supported by strong recruitment and resourcing solutions, again, to be developed and delivered by your team.
We need a team player who can work collaboratively across RBLs managers and with the HR team to support with resource planning. Experienced across a range of recruitment markets, knowledge and success in the Care Sector would be a real advantage as would experience with implementing ATS systems. We are looking for a change champion and someone who holds the customer at the heart of their work and is passionate about continuous improvement. Our change programme also commits to the development of a more inclusive working environment and so experience of developing resourcing strategies to support this ambition is essential.
The role requires strong leadership to manage the busy resourcing team who work across varied recruitment markets. You will also be actively involved in supporting recruitment campaigns for senior roles and Trustees. You will have experience of IR35 as you will be responsible for ensuring compliance within this area.
Please note this role can be remotely based, but there will be regular travel to our London office and Birmingham hub (monthly).
Diversity Statement
We believe that the compassion, understanding and service we show each, and every individual customer should be reflected in the way we all support, respect and include every individual who works with us.
It’s because of this that we have strived hard to create a One Legion culture that we can all feel part of and succeed in. It’s why we make sure that you have the opportunities you need to learn and develop. It’s why we’re invested in making RBL a truly inclusive place to work, where everyone can be themselves. It’s why you’re welcome, whoever you might be.
It’s why we welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
