The Role
The Royal British Legion’s Benefits, Debt and Money Advice Service supports beneficiaries and their families who are experiencing financial difficulties. We are seeking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic team player to join the team delivering a high quality, person-centred benefits, debt, and money advice service across the North region, including Northern Ireland.
You will be based at home, working remotely in the interim in line with health & safety and Government guidance on Covid-19. If it is safe to do so, the role will require regular attendance at RBL offices, community-based client appointments, tribunal, and court hearings.
The ideal candidate will have recent, significant experience of managing a caseload of clients requiring specialist benefits and / or money advice, providing advice, advocacy, and representation to individuals with debt and benefits issues.
We would like to invite applications from individuals who have both specialist debt and benefit experience (including representation up to and including first tier tribunal) for the Level 2 position.
We would like to invite applications from individuals who have either specialist debt or benefits experience (including representation up to and including first tier tribunal) for the Level 1 position.
Both positions require you to have a good working knowledge of the welfare benefits system and provide comprehensive benefits and income maximisation advice through the take up of appropriate statutory and armed forces benefits.
We are looking for someone with excellent communications skills and a strong focus on quality customer service. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a methodical approach to work and sound organisational skills.
The role is subject to relevant employment checks, including Enhanced DBS Clearance.
